Memory compatibility

I'm looking for some compatible memory for a NF7-s rev. 2 board that I'm going to purchase in the near future. I don't OC or do any hard gaming yet, so I would like to find some middle of the road memory that will be sufficient. I did check Abit's website and found some recommended memory, but who knows how long it's been since they updated their site. I know there are many of you out there with this board and would like to see your input.

Also, I have a Athlon xp2400+ thoroughbred 266mhz fsb and do I need to make sure the memory is compatible with that as well?

i have that board,and i use ocz ram,kingston is nice to for nforce boards as well imo.

I use Corsair XMS3200C2 memory. Two 512MB sticks in dual channel. Runs like a champ at 200MHz. Haven't pushed further since I'm happy with my 400MHz overclock on stock voltage. 😎

I have crucial PC2100 (3x256mb sticks) in my NF7-S r2 with 2400+ t-bred 🙂 Cant complain about the ram, rock solid though timings wont budge off the SPD ("default") 2.5-3-3-6 and I reckon its the ram causing cpu to lockup if I add so much as 1mhz to the FSB.

Stability - perfectly fine
overclock - absolute zero

... of course, you'd probably just buy PC2600 anyway, which presuambly would allow for some FSB overclocking if you decided to have a go.

Thing is, the price of it off crucial website is like a third of what I'd pay for something like mushkin or corsair supar dupa OC l33t pro blinken lights stuff. (im in UK and maybe dont have any good ram e-tailers).

I've used crucial, kingston, and corsair on my two nf7 v.2 boards. Haven't had a problem with any of them.

I think as long as you stick to the mainstream memory makers, you shouldn't have a problem. It's when you start buying Joe's memory to save a few $$ over the real stuff, that you run into problems...
