I contacted OCZ Tech Support to check compatibility of their OCZ PC-3200 2GB (2 x 1 GB) kit with a P4S800D-E mobo and they replied... "So far, we have only tested OCZ4002048PFDC-K on most popular motherboards and chipsets, like Intel 875/865 and nForce2. We have not tested it on P4S800D-E motherboard yet. So we don?t recommend you to use this product on your Sis655TX based motherboard."
How big a risk is this 'venture' without a prior compatibility check and the blessings of the hardware OEM?
Unfortunately it doesn't seem 1 GB sticks are very popular. Consequently there's not much info to be found on compatibility with this config (for any mobo). While I found the "Searching for the Memory Holy Grail: Part 1 and Part 2" quite informative, 1 GB was the max config. I'd have liked to see at least one test of (4) x 512 MB or (2) x 1 GB.
