Memory Compatibility Question

I have a MSI K7T266 Pro2 motherboard. Currently it has 512 MB of Crucial PC2100 RAM in it. Looking to add a little boost, I tried adding more RAM. I went on crucials website and it said I could use PC3200 RAM. So I bought a stick of Mushkin 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) from Newegg. When I installed it, my computer showed the full 1 gig of ram on the memory test, but then I experienced random reboots, and lots of errors when I finally got into windows.

Is this new ram not compatible with my old ram? My system? or is it just bad?

Any help would be appreciated.
