Memory cannot be "read" errors, also "written" at times

Ive been getting these errors with various apps, starcraft itll say memory cannot be "read" at locatio x000x0xx etc, half life 2 its memory cannot be "written".

Now, ive found that my pagefile was for some reason set to 1500mb, and was not system managed, could that have been whats been causing these errors? Ive set it to system managed now, and havent had a memory error yet. I doubt its bad memory, but it could be.

I have 2x512mb pc3200
and 2x1gb pc3200

3 crucial sticks and 1 samsung.

The most likely cause is bad memory, or Data Execution Prevention being enabled on applications that aren't compatible with it. It could also be your PSU. The first thing you should do is run memtest for two passes and see if everything is OK. Even if it didn't find errors at least you will have the peace of mind that your memory is OK. Although, that will not necessarily rule out your PSU. Memtest is not nearly as stressful (in other subsystems) as Windows, so the graphics power that memtest does not need may free up the power needed by the memory and thus appear as if everything went fine. I recommend running Prime95 for a while as well. My last guess would be that there is a bug in the program. I assume you have fully patched both prior to testing.
