Say i have a 9800 pro with pc133 at 1GB/s speed and an athlon xp 1900. I get a new mainboard. So i make the 1900 goto 400 fsb and drop the multiplier to keep the clock speed close. And im using 2 256 ddr 3200 chips. WIll i see much performance gain form 1GB/s memory speed to 6.4GB/s dual channel memory speed? Like in games or 3d mark?

Depends on the particular situation. Overall, you should certainly see a sizeable performance boost, although in some cases you won't see any. Tom did a comparison a while back with a XP2000, give me a sec...

Here it is. In some cases the performance boost is huge, in others not so great. This focuses on CPU limited situations, although with your R9800Pro and a XP1900 that is likely to be not uncommon for you 😉
