Memory and nForce 2

Ok - this may be a daft question from a relative newbie - BUT - what is the best memory config for a nForce2 mobo? I wanna run 512MB of RAM with a Athlon 2400+ XP and a nForce2 mobo (probably the Epox). And I wanna run it at the best performance I can - so what memory do I need (PC2700 or whatever) and is it best if I buy two strips of 256MB?

Does that make sense?

Help!

A:confused:

Get 2 sticks of PC-3500C2 Corsair XMS series and make sure you pop 1 in bank 3.

I more or less agree with LED. I think you could easily get away with PC3200 if you are not into extreme FSB overclocking, but stay away from the 2700 stuff unless you plan to run strictly at 166 FSB. Also there was a really good review at Lost Circuits which showed essentially no difference between running one vs. two sticks of memory on the ASUS board, despite the whole dual-bank memory thingy. So you could get one stick of PC3200 512 MB and then be more future-proof for upgrades. Interestingly, they got the best performance in the Lost Circuits review with all three banks populated...but not that much better.
