My last post seemed to have gotten deleted or something, but I really need help.

I'm in the process of building my new computer. I've decided to buy a AMD Thunderbird 1GHz or Intel 1GHz, but I need to know what is the best memory for either of these two (256+ MB)? SDRAM? RDRAM? there are others but I can't think. One other problem is the motherboard. Could someone also recommend a (the best) motherboard that would go good with an AMD or Intel 1GHz?

Thanks

Buy 256MB PC133 SDRAM (CAS2). Thunderbird or Pentium? It's your choice...

T'bird : Good CPU, lack of chipsets support.
P!!!: Not a bad CPU, good chipsets support.

"not a bad cpu"????
firingsquad rates the pIII 1gig over the t-bird 1gig...
personally i think the tbird has a very small advantage overall.
get an abit ka7 and a tbird if price isnt an issue, better chipsets will come out sooner rather than later but thats the best right now, as for ram get x amount of pc133 cas2, not rdram cause the chipset wont support it

Get 256MB SDRAM. Forget about RDRAM. Doesn't worth it. Also, I would say get T-bird 1G with the upcoming Asus KT133 board, if you have the money and you can wait.
