I don't think you know what you're talking about. Memory prices have been going up and down all the time lately.

Yes, lovely. Since you can get 2GB of 667 for $150 and the performance increase is negligable for the most part going to DDR2 800... ( Check this for confirmation: http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.aspx?i=2809&p=7)

If the OP has a 6700 or is overclocking his/her CPU to death then it might be worth considering, but the majority of these questions are asked by people buying 6400s. Add in the lack of any other details that you'd expect to see and it looks a lot like a newbie who'd splurging through ignorance.

asus 975 premium mobo, the expensive one, with a 4mb cache CPU, and I would say it's good.

otherwise stick with value RAM

Then cheap and cheerful is your friend. I don't know why but i can't seem to link to (or use links to) the stuff i'd buy, but right now there's some mushkin 667 going for $159 on newegg. Theres' going to be better deals around i'm sure, that's the sort of price and performance you should be looking at.

All imo of course :)
