Guys,
I'm contemplating doing a couple of upgrades to my EPoX EP-9NPA+Ultra board, currently running a Venice 3200+ and 1GB OCZ CAS2 DDR PC3200 (2x512). Everything on the board is stock speed.
If I were to add two additional (matching) 512MB PC3200 sticks, for a total of four, will I have any issues w/ performance (i.e. RAM timings) on this board?
The other upgrade I'm considering is a San Diego 4000+ cpu, since Newegg has it pretty reasonably priced these days, and AFAIK Socket 939 chips aren't going to be in adequate supply much longer.
I'd appreciate any experience you might have had w/ this board and four RAM sticks, or any knowledge you might have of any potential issues.
FWIW part of the reason I'm doing these upgrades is to make the board/cpu/memory more "palatable" to a small circle of friends that typically buy my parts when I'm through w/ them. I figure the combo of the board, 2GB, and 2.4GHZ cpu should be adequate for Vista, some time down the road.
TIA,
Jeff
