Is there much of a performance loss in a dual channel system? Also, it would be a system that could do 1T w/ four dimms if that matters. Thx
 
If its for a Pentium 4, no you will not notice any slow-down, or stability problems at all. P4 has its mega-latencies on the very core, so memory latencies matter little.

If you have an A64 plataform, it is best to run with the least amount of modules possible, so you can achieve better latencies.
