So some fool here decided to by some memorex cd-rs, took 3 tries to burn a disc, when it finally decided to burn it was under speed. If I had paid for these I'd be even more pissed!

I've had one or two spindles of Memorex that worked fine. Maybe you just got a bad batch.

I also think memorex cd-r media are awful. That and imation (I just call them imitations). Cheap crap..I used to always have problems with them. For cd-r I use tdk, sony, verbatim and fuji. Never had a problem with those 4 brands. It could also be a cd burner issues.. some drives can be picky.

The Mitsubishi ones (Verbatim) work well for me. As well as Sony and Samsung. For DVD+R I go with Verbatim. Not a coaster yet.

I use Memorex as data CDs only, as burning audio CDs with Memorex produces a "clicking" noise in my CD player. Other than that, I've had good results with them.

I use cheap Khypermedia junk I got for free from Omax, and I have never ever had a problem with any of the discs.

Oh yeah, I have used Memorex, and they were fine. That and Maxell, Imations, Sony, TDK, Fuji. My point being, I don't care what brand it is, as long as it's cheap and it works.

you know, the memorex that i have are TY, the same as fuji's

as for Imations/TDK/yhypermedia/optimum, they are all CMC magnetics

may be your burner's fault. i have a lite-on 48125 and it no coasters at all

Eh, you people need to learn about your media. Name brands mean nothing. Check to see who really made the discs.

I don't care what brand it is, whatever is the cheapest.

I like Imation and K-Hypermedia, probably because I have ~200 each of them still left.

truthfully, it seems like medai brands are random..

when u check dye on each of the cdr's its really varies... so its hard to say one brand is bad compared to another brand, as it does vary.

I've never had a problem with Memorex, but my cheap brand of choice is Khypermedia, simply because you can get them for next to nothing on sale. When I had my Lite On, the only brand that ever burnt coasters was Imation, and even then I have a ton of those laying around that still work perfectly fine.

And then I don't have any idea who actually made the CDs, so the brand doesn't mean anything.

Are they silver coated or white coated??? I noticed that once I bought a silver batch of memorex after buying TONS of white memorexs that it takes about 3-5 tries thus wasting all of your cds, I'll never buy those silver ones again, I don't know why they switched from white to silver but the silver ones are not great, only way I'll ever buy memorexs again is if they change it back to white
