Seen this on bestbuy.com. It is not available for online order, but probably the B&Ms have the same price, or you can pricematch.

Memorex 4.7GB DVD+R Disc Spindle (50-pack)
Model: 3202-5557
Loads of information to archive? Pick up this pack of DVD+R discs with huge amounts of storage capability. Each disc stores up to 4.7GB of data or approximately 4 hours of recording time

Great find... Will check it out tomorrow at BB..

I wish I could get it online... oh so lazy... :)

Can someone confirm this is a great find and can someone comment on the media.. ?
Is there cheaper media for "+" drives out there?

(I have the Memorex (Ricoh) 2.4x DVD+R/RW Burner... )

Thanks.. :)

The lowest I can find DVD+R discs (other than this deal) are for around $2 each.

I have an hp dvd200i and I have used only Memorex and hp discs so far. No bad burns yet and they play in every DVD drive/player I have.

Dangit, I need a deal on DVD-R. Curse these competing standards. I am new to the DVD burning world and I made the mistake of buying a Khypermedia spindle of 10. I had some data verfication errors towards the end of those discs. I went and bought a 5pack of Memorex and have only burned one but had better luck.

This is deffinately a hot deal for those with "+" burners.

I've been using Memorex DVD+R media for the last few months and I've never had one fail.

Thanks pothead! I checked out that site, and they had dvd+r 25 pack for $50 and free shipping. Pretty good price for these days. The +rw prices are very high though ... Thanks again.

So far I've used the 2x DVD-R's, purple and gold "generic's" (made in Taiwan) with no problems burning at 2x. Most (or at least many) of the newer stand alone dvd players advertise they can play the DVD-R's, and I haven't had any problems on about 4 different machines I've tried them on. That's all the testing I've done, except I also tried the DVD+RW that came with the dru500a, and it too works in all the machines I've tried it on.

I went to the local BestBuy a few times and only found the 5 packs of DVD+Rs which I picked up. The 50 packs were nowhere to be found, and they are currently listed at $99.99 on the BestBuy website now.

I've used the Memorex +R and +RW as well as Maxell +R and +RW both worked great. No coasters.

On my DRU-500A, I've used Memorex, Maxell, and Fuji DVD+R media successfully. Only one coaster, and that was my own fault.

I have a 10-pack of Maxell DVD-R media here that I haven't tapped into yet.

I went to BB to get that 50 pk spindle and they said it would be on the next truck... (2 of them)
went to the store when they said the truck would come, but the truck supposedly didn't show up...
Have given up on that.. plus now the price is raised back up online..

I'm still looking for a deal on DVD+R/RW 's...
Don't want to pay more than a buck each really..
I hope something comes up soon..

Let me know if something close comes up ...
burner sittin' nice and cold here..

:)

I have heard repeatedly about recording and also playback issues with memorex DVD's,both +r and -r, esp like later when you go to replay them. I avoid them, I always wondered why often they were a little bit cheaper.

I personally hate Memorex Media. I have the Sony DRU-500A and have had nothing, but problems with them.

For good cheap DVD-R media go to www.rima.com and get the Ritek general purpose discs. They are about $1 a disc.
For good DVD+R media Best Buy has a 50 pack of TDK 4X media for $99.99.

Stay away from meritline.com cdrdvdrmedia.com and supermediastore.com these have been known to substitute media without
telling and have aweful customer service. See the www.doom9.com DVD burning forum for more info.
