Memorex 4x DVD+R with Nec ND-1100A

This darn dvd+r is only recognized as 2.4x in ND-1100A.
Other people says it works at 4x as well with ND-1100A.
I updated latest official firmware and still not recognizable as 4x..
WTH with this media..
