Buy.com is selling Memorex 4x DVD+R 50-pack spindles for only $72.99 plus shipping ($5 for the standard method):

Buy.com - Memorex 4x DVD+R 50-pack Spindle

Also, since Buy.com charges sales tax only for orders shipped to California, Indiana and Massachusetts, you could think of the low shipping cost as the usual taxes in other states.

No I doubt memorex makes the disc they are made and repackaged?

Like cdrs..TDK sells cdrs but they are made by Various companies like Taiyo Yuden, ritek etc

The Manufacturer is important for the overall quality of the dvd+r/dvd-r.... not sure if the cheap dvd=r/-r are as bad as cheap cdrs

:disgust:I don't know about the quality of their DVD+R media, but Memorex is rated on the bottom of the heap as far as DVD-R media quality goes. After I started having problems with some Memorex DVD-R's, I read a review that stated that Memorex was about the poorest quality vs. TDK and Maxell which are the highest quality and have the highest compatibilty.

I got in on the TDK DVD+R deal at Best Buy and haven't had a problem burning or playing back one disk [after using about 20 so far]! Same goes for my TDK and Rytek DVD-Rs - not a problem. :D

For the most part brand name means absolutely nothing since they can vary. There are some brands that stick with one manufacturer and those you can say how good they are for the most part (because even the best manufacturers have bad runs).

"The mfr ID is RICOHJPNR01"

FWIW this is the same disc ID as the TDK 100 pk on sale recently at Best Buy for $130, and is also the same disc ID as the Verbatim 15 pk on sale recently at Office Depot which was buy one get one free for $32.77. So if anyone was questioning whether or not these were good discs, they are in fact some of the best made. Of course there is always the possibility that they ( Memorex as well as TDK & Verbatim) buy from multiple sources and you may possibly get some made by another manufacturer. I had recently bought some Memorex DVD-R which were apparently made by CMC. I have not had a problem with them or any of these same Ricoh discs packaged by Verbatim.

The email I received from buy.com regarding free shipping encouraged me to forward the email to a friend:

EDIT - Can't seem to get the link to work. PM me your email address and I'll forward it to you.
