memorex 32x maxx burner help needed.

i recently acquired a memorex 32 maxx cd rw drive..
specs are 32x -12x-40x...

now i was dissapointed to find out that this drive does not work with nero.. but that's another story.. the problem that i have is that i can't get the drive to burn at 32x.. the only choices i have under roxio are 8x or 16x... i want to make use of the drive's full capabilities.. i've searched under drive properties and such but can't figure how to get to 32x..
all my drives have dma enabled under the system properties..
i can't figure out what to do..

What kind of Memorex burner is it specificly?

I checked the supported burner list and they had 3 Maxx burners listed

32MAXX 1240AJ <---- Easy CD Creater 5.02c supported.
32MAXX 1240AK <---- Not supported at all 🙁
32MAXX 1240AK <---- Not supported at all 🙁

Also saw on top of page here. which is where I found the support for all burners. But quoted from the top was

roxio says the drive is a 1240AK....
i'm using roxio ez cd creator 5 that came with the drive so i would hope that it would be supported... ..
