leave it the far left to think of such incompetence as heroism...

Did anybody else catch this?? (slight paraphrasing)

Russert: "John Kerry volunterred for the draft did you?"

Bush: "No. I served in the National Guard. I flew F??? aircraft. We had fun."

So John Kerry goes off to fight in Vietnam and Bush says home to "have fun". Should be a good political ad.

f-102 aircraft.

besides no one "volunteers" for a draft. that is after all why it is the DRAFT. and your "paraphrasing" reminds me of dmcowen and his posts. movve a word around here, omit one there...

so bush flew an aircraft that actually was known as a plane a bit hard to fly, even by seasoned pilots. abut kerry drives around in a patrol boat that he beached to capture ONE vc. after getting medals for relative scratches due to his kennedy conections, kerry then leaves the service early and joins v v a w, an anti war organization with ties to the communist party that frequently flies the flag of the enemy during a time of war and degrades our soldiers as "babykillers"....except for the case of Komrade Kerry. his accidental shooting of a woman, a 12 year old, a baby, and several south vietnamese soldiers is somehow "ok".

bush may not have shot anybody, but at least he did not shoot the wrong people!

OK so my english is no better than Bush's, Kerry ENLISTED. At least my paraphrasing has some basis in fact. There has been no documentatin to suggest Kerry didn't see much action. You just made that up.

BTW - Being a pilot doent quilify one as a "genious" or a "hero" Just look at that AA pilot who made threating comments to his passangers during a flight. I would still say it take a lot more guts to go to war than to fly a plane over Texas.

well they both enlisted.

my point was flying a fighter jet takes a bit more skill than putting around in a boat with a machine gun mounted on it. and yes there IS documentation, look at his service record. he was only in vietnam for 11 months. and did not see any action until NOV 1968 transferring out to the states in MAR 1969 (4 months total combat time)

2 of his purple hearts were for cuts that did no reguire any hospital time, the third purple heart kept him out of action for 2 days.

if he had been a regular soldier instead of a friend of the kennedy family, Komrade Kerry proboly would have only gotten 1 of those purple hearts.

I'm sorry i lost count.

how many medals bush recieved ?

daddy gave him a medallion for the beach.
