Which one would do better with OC E2180 on IP-35-E

$31.99 - Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT12864AA804 - Retail

Or

$29.00 - CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400C4 - Retail

These products have identical specs, and both companies have good reputations for quality products. You can't go wrong either way.

Flip a coin 🙂

Since the multiplier on an E2180 is high enough that you shouldn't have to overclock the memory, I doubt it makes any difference. I hear too many stories of Ballistix failing for me to want to buy it though. (Not that Crucial is a bad company, I have some of their RAM that's been great, I've just heard of a lot of Ballistix RMAs.)

I agree with DSF. I've used Crucial for years, and was going to go with the Ballistix deal JackMDS mentioned. However there seems to be a very high rate of problems with that specific RAM. I went with G-Skill FWIW.

As everyone has already said...either one is fine for what you want. 8x425 with these sticks should be easy at 5-5-5-15 2T, which will give you a nice OC to 3.4GHz.

I'm pleased with my g.skills. All my reading of the IP35-E before buying mine pointed me in the direction of J whatever certified 1.8v ram.
