Member callouts in signatures

I know threads are NOT supposed to be started for member or mod callouts.
But signatures calling out members...is that any different?

I guess it wouldn't be a ''callout'', but clearly a quip or insult.

And no, I haven't been targeted myself, lol.

Feel free to move to the mod discussions section.

I can perhaps name specific examples if moved there. If not, some direction or answer would be nice.

I got warned for having a quote from/about a member in my signature. Apparently it is alright as long as they aren't babies and report it. 🙄

Some members don't mind, others do. When the ones who do mind, PM the mods, we ask the member with the quote to remove it.

Banned members have the option of going through proper outlined channels to request reinstatement.

Placing a request in your signature will not accomplish anything.

Banning is because of a members actions; the same( a members actions) will potentially cause a return.

Popularity does not weigh into the picture; they are gone for what they did.

I assume you mean "their" signature?

If so, you'd have to be a patient google searcher. But, you could start with this search term:

I had "Keep TheFlyingPig banned everyone knows this" in my sig and a mod edited it to "No member callouts in signatures everyone knows this" however there are lots of people with "Unban theFlyingPig" in their signatures... how is that any different?

Side note: TheFlyingPig isn't banned.
