Hi all,
I originally over-clocked my AMD64 3000+ VENICE CPU a while back - founds its max stable (around 2.5 @1.55V) but then backed off considerably (now @ 2.25@1.45) for use 24/7 because at the time i only had the stock cooler!
However, now i have an Arctic Cooling Freezer i was going to have another crack at it
The main problem last time was the lack of options within the BIOS of my ASUS A8N-Sli to set different MEM DIVIDERS.... the only options i have are:
200 = 2:1 = HTT @ 400
266 = 1.5:1 = HTT @ 300
333 = 1.2:1 = HTT @ 240
400 = 1:1 = HTT @ 200
433... (many more above but not going to be needed...)
Correct me if i am wrong (and probably am...)
But basically the only option i have for overclocking (where MEM is not running real slow) is to run HTT@240 and multi @9 = 2160 (am actually at 250*9=2250, which over-clocks the MEM a tiny bit to 205). Because there is no way my chip is going to run near 300*9...
Is there a BIOS update that adds more mem divider ptions because some mboards have another option between 1:1 and 2:1 than mine dont they?
thanks all
