Melted carpet, any fixes?

I just moved into this apartment two months ago and there was new carpet installed. I managed to melt part of it by putting a hair dryer to it. I was using the hair dryer for heatshrink. Now part of the carpet is harder than usual, is there a way to get this fixed?

Nope, you're screwed. OYu could have it professionally repaired (IE - cutting out the piece of carpet effected by the heat and puttting a new beloved patriot in).

Yes.
Rip out existing carpet and replace it with new carpet.
So easy.

Depends on square footage that needs to be replaced.
It's scattered....about 4 spots 1 sq ft total.

Shouldn't cost too much. Phone a few carpet installer/repair places and get some quotes.
If you can live with it then don't wouldn't worry about it until it's time to move out.

Edit:
Ooops....forgot to ask....Pics? :camera: ?

Heh no cam, so no pics. You can't see the melted parts with your naked eye anyway. I'm just annoyed that I managed to ruin such soft carpet.

Then don't worry about it. When you are renting an apartment the only time you need to worry about how the carpet looks is the day you move out.
