Hopefully then (better in 2021-2024) major reforms will be instituted. Do we need a meltdown for meaningful change in the USA? Hopefully not.

Even if the present administration loses, Trump is going to call it fraud, or deep-state conspiracy, or any other number of ridiculous nonsense that pops into his head… and until some kind of vaccine is found, Biden (like Obama with the collapse of the economy in 2008) will most probably be left with a country split in two and a Pandemic to deal with… The only positive I can think of really, is that the Democrats will hopefully have a plan to deal with covid much more sympathetically
