Mel Gibson's dad: "Holocaust was mostly fiction"

UNCjigga

Lifer
"They claimed that there were 6.2 million (Jews) in Poland before the war and after the war there were 200,000, therefore he (Hitler) must have killed 6 million of them. They simply got up and left. They were all over the Bronx and Brooklyn and Sydney and Los Angeles."

Did a search, didn't see this posted. Sorry if its a repost. Way to open up a can of worms before the release of "The Passion of the Christ".

Most of WWII is fictious. It was simply an excuse for massive military spending. The beginning of the Cold War if you will. In reality, it never happened.

His father's opinion is not his. Mel Gibson has repeatedly stated this. This is also VERY old news.

Well, it sort of indicates what kind of environment Mel grew up in. I mean c'mon, Vatican 2 was an attempt by Masons and Jews to take over the Catholic Church?? 😕 If that's the doctrine Hutton subscribes too, I'm sure he made some attempt to indoctrinate his son...

Probably half the people here have grandparents who were raised in a racist and/or anti-semitic society, and who still have some of those ideas (consciously or not). According to IMDB Gibson is 48, so Gibson's dad is a 60-something year old geezer who just hasn't overcome his upbringing.

Not that there's anything right with that.

Doesn't mean he took to the indoctrination.

He has never explicitly repudiated it either.

I don't trust him and his kind, thier is too much of a history of rabid anti-semitism there.

Right...

This explains why Gibson has worked with Jews on all his movies with no problems at all.

The children should NOT be made to pay for the sins of their fathers.

I truly hope you are never judged based on such faulty logic and shabby evidence.

From the evidence I see, any indoctrination along these lines failed.

The son is not responsible for the father. Obviously Mel is the reason these are brought up, since I don't think this dipshit opinion would be aired otherwise.

When Mel says something like this, then that is newsworthy.

BTW, "him and his kind?"

You have no evidence against Mel, so you lump him in some sort of group based on your own ignorant prejudice.

Nice...

The sins of the father should not be visited upon the son

One of my uncles did not like black people and would not even let his daughter watch the Cosby Show due to their ethnicity. As luck would have it her roommate in college was black. This same person was one of her bridesmaid as well as one of her best friends. I'm not sure of his views now, but he had it coming.

I view it as more ignorance than actual hate, hopefully the racist dinisaurs will die out soon.

Yes it is.

I don't trust ... his kind

And you can say that with a straight face as you're putting down someone because they might have a distaste for someone else's "kind"?

Come to your senses!

Figures since you're a UNC grad though.
