Mel Gibson will be a major no-show at the Academy Awards

The LA TIMES reports that Gibson let the offer expire because, Roth says, he was afraid of being booed.

What a pansy. At least Michael Moore got up there and reveled in the boos.

Michael Moore revels in his discord, while Mel Gibson actually has some dignity. Going to the Grammys would only be a waste of time for him, given the situation.

The Executive Producer of the program, Joe Roth, asked the filmmaker of PASSION OF THE CHRIST to present an award, knowing it would create unforgettable sparks.

So you would go, knowing it was a set-up to make you look like a jackass? Not that you would need any help...

Good one!

Its not set up to make him look like a jackass. It's simply to put him on stage. Any negative result is fallout from his own actions. If people like it they'll applaud, if not they'll boo. Wonder why he's so afraid? 🙂

Good for Gibson...the Academy awards makes me puke.

The only thing worse that Joan Rivers and her ugly slut daughter, are the utter fools who sleep overnight on the sidewalk, just to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars.

I would only sleep overnight for Red Sox season tickets.

If hes scared he shouldnt be. All he did was make a masterpiece-quality movie that will easily outlive all of the current negativity.

Why would Mel Gibson not go to the Grammys? The next Grammy Awards aren't until 2005...the controversy will probably have died down some by then. Besides, why would he go to a music awards show? That's just silly.

/yes, I'm taking way too much advantage of that mistake
