Just watched this movie again(because I'm writing an essay on it)

What do the great people of Anandtech have to say about the film's adaption from Hamlet?
Did you think Mel Gibson was Hamlet worthy?
Were the characters built up well enough? Or were scenes cut that simply should not have been?

These questions, or any others are fine, and well appreciated :)

Just trying to get ideas, not going to steal anything :p
Thanks!

The best one I've seen is the "Kenneth Branagh" version.

I saw that one too..... It was one of the best ones ive seen also... We had to watch it in my high school english class, and i enjoyed it (surprisingly, because i hated shakespeare before)

The Mel Gibson one.
Some really old one... forget the actor though I would probably recognize if it was said.

I saw the Branagh one first, and I think that spoiled the other two for me because it was so much better.

I haven't seen the Zeffirelli one though...

Actually the Franco Zeffirelli is the Mel Gibson one :p He's just the director.

The older you saw was the Laurence Olivier one, which was all right, but I didn't like Olivier's interpretation of Hamlet, I thought he was too dark, and a little too flat.

I would have to agree that the Branagh one is the best.
