This is a simple PSA that Meijer is perhaps the best grocery/everything store in the USA. You can always get awesome deals on food and such and they usually have a pretty huge selection of everything. Not to mention it is about 10x better than Walmart in Michigan. I can count the number of times I've been to Walmart on two hands.

One of my favorite things is that sales on a particular item go in about 3 week cycles, so every three weeks you stock up on said item and by the time it's gone, it's on sale again. Also the 2 for 6 or 10 for 10 (what ever combo) is always nice because you only have to purchase one to get the discounted per item rate.

Not to mention they are clean stores with people who are very willing to help you find what you need.

Those who do not know how to pronounce it, it is pronounced like "Meyer" however, several Michiganders call it Meijers (Meyers) for some weird reason.

They are Walmart sized grocery stores that are located in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky & Ohio. Michigan is one of the few states that Walmart does not have a death grip on. Meijer for the win. There are about 6 within a 15 mile radius of my parents home.

Actually the "discounts" normally make them moderate ok rates.

Occasionally they have the big money savers (like buy 1 get 2 free). I shop there too since its within walking distance. Also a Michigander.

I'm sorry, but aside from the fact there isn't a store within 50 miles of where I live, any store that I have look up how to pronounce its name will not get my business.

I have heard good things from FW/SD threads about it though.

No such store on the west coast. And that sounds really dumb. I would pronounce it like major or something.

The place where I think they excel is the Meijer Brand items... it usually tastes as good or better than the brand name and is usually dirt cheap. Meijer Brand used to be pretty nasty tasting but in the past 5-6 years they've really been working on making it taste good. Meijer Mac n Cheese is in my opinion much better than Kraft, although it used to be gross.

I noticed that Most of the employees in Meijer (West Chester, Ohio) is middle eastern descent. They also have a Muslem Temple 1 mile away from the store. Nothing bad, its something I've noticed.

We go the Meijer every week for almost everything, even though Kroger is lot closer. Meijer has more selection. Meijer is also my secret place to get Wii stuff. Not too many people seem to know that they sell electronics..
