I use NXT as well, and it's amazing. Easy to put on and buff out, and the shine is amazing. AND it lasts a long time. It's probably formulated from ground up angels.

Lol! At first I thought I might not be putting on enough, but then I realized that I was making the car shine like crazy anyways so it wasn't worth wasting more to apply it thicker.

All of the Meguiar's stuff I've tried lasts about 2-4 weeks. I use Zaino brothers, for all the work it takes to polish/wax a car I need it to last 6 months.

Weird my wax has been on there for about 2 months, beads like new. Meguiar's #26 will offer the longest protection, somewhere in the 6 month range as well.

That's the last stuff I tried, lasted exactly 4 weeks parked outside in the fall in the midwest before the water didn't bead. It lasted only slightly longer on my dad's garaged Miata.

I didn't really like NXT. I had a bottle, but I gave it away.

I still like Meguiar's Car Cleaner Wax. A bit more solvents, but still a great wax and cleans much of the crap that other waxes leave under the new coat of wax.

Of course, a Claybar job does wonders too.

Best overall solution............

Claybar followed by Meguiar's 1, 2, 3 solution. (cleaner, polish, wax)

Lots of time & lots of work, but you don't need to do it all in one day........you can even take a couple weeks to do it and unless you have a brand new car, it is quite possibly the best thing you can do to your paint.

Follow up w/ MCCW every 6 months thereafter.

I did this two weeks ago, except using Zaino Bros. products. Man, it took all weekend and I felt like I had been hit by a freight train. Hopefully it will last 6 months between applications. Zaino isn't perfect, it attracts a fine layer of dust which is very noticeable on dark cars (my current car is white). But if I'm going to go through the hassle I need something that is going to last.

BTW, a great detailing forum is www.autopia.org .

Ha ha...........yes it kills them muscles like a mother, but soooooooooooo rewarding.

If you do the 6mos waxing routine, you shouldn't need to do anything like that again for 5 years.

In 6mos from now, provided you don't do drive-thru car washes (just use store-bought car wash that has sheeting action like Meguiars, Zymol, etc.) and the next time you wax you should be easily removing anything that built up over the 6mos time with the just the solvents in the wax.

Ahhh Detailing, I used to detail my car all the time but now sadly I don't have any time to. When I detailed my car I used all the Meguiar's products... the car wash, the clay bar, the nxt polish & wax. I also used that spray nxt wax as touch up every week to maintain the shine, it was good stuff.

I find the best performance/price ratio comes from Duragloss products. Not expensive, easily available, and they work very very well. Aquawax spray wax is like the best thing ever. A lot of the people at autopia.org rave about this stuff. I start with Klasse AIO, then on to Duragloss TPP 105, and then maintain with Duragloss Aquawax. Maintaining it will Aquawax will keep the protection going pretty much indefinitely.

Sadly I haven't had time lately to wash my car, and every single weekend when I decide it's time, rain is forecasted for Monday. But after 2 months of minimal washes, but plenty of rain (took it through a touchless once to get the big chunks off though), the water still beads from the Aquawax.

I haven't had a chance to try the NXT, but I hear it leaves a nice candy coated look to the car. I may try it, but I have plenty of Aquawax, and it's actually cheaper anyway.
