[Gonad the Barbarian]

I just got this on DVD today. Hadn't seen it before but really liked it. From what I've read it's one of those movies people love or hate. Anyone else see it and what are your thoughts?

OMG. you're kidding right? i don't know where to start, the poor acting or the insanely, poorly done plot. the end world theme intrigues me but i feel like they used up a majority of their budget on the special fx and forgot about finding a better location to film the scenes.

Biehn was a little stiff in this movie, but overall all I didn't think the acting was bad. In fact it had a fairly decent cast. It was a pretty low budget film so it had limitations, but I thought the effects were decent and I was really impressed with the colleseum shot and arial battle shot near the end.

Oh, and I have to admit, the bit with Biehn saying 'the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away' while cocking the gun was so campy I did laugh out loud.

nah, it was lamer when the main guy was having a talk with God before the final showdown. it just screams poor acting. i seriously thought this movie could have been done a hundred times better. as you said, the low budget kinda shows in the acting and choice of place to film. i mean dude, how can the entire world be at war on ONE stinkin' small ass battlefield. and they were mostly using tanks! sheesh! this isn't the 1940's.
