How irresponsible for pushing the lottery as a financial planning tool!

the states must be REALLY hard up for budget $ to push this unethical crap.

The thing is, a lot of those people aren't purchasing just one ticket a week. Look at the idiots who got profoundly lucky last week - they purchased 4 *identical* tickets (they picked the numbers; not random numbers) at 4 separate locations. (Plus the big question - how many other tickets did they purchase?)

That's true. In my state, they also give to institutions like Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Agriculture for school nutrition.

If I had a time machine, I'd go back and win every single lottery every week. And on the ones where someone else wins, I'd buy 100 winning tickets, just so that poor bastard has to settle for 1% of his winnings.. :evil:
