I never, ever, almost never buy lottery tickets, but I think I will this time. :)

If I win, I will fix the search function....I promise. ;)

I rarely play the lottery, but I always buy tickets when it gets this big. What the hell, it's only $5-10 bucks for a chance at a fortune. What I hate is when I'm at work and someone comes by my cube and says "Hey, we're all putting in $5 in a group so we can buy a bunch of tickets, want to put in?" At that point, I'm pretty much obligated to put money in. Because what if I say "nah, not interested" and then Wednesday I find out these fools won? I'd jump off the building. ;)

The "fools" where I work did the same thing; except the email to me stated that they would buy the tickets from several different locations in order to increase their chances of winning. (Incredibly flawed logic, and incredibly poor math.)

So, rather than feeling obligated to chip in $5, I did just that: called them fools. (In a smiling, not confrontational way, of course.)

Has anyone hit the jackpot with numbers they chose themselves?

I could only imagine if there was one winner and that person picked the numbers themselves. (The finger pointing, accusation of cheating, etc.)

It isn't so much a curse as it is a test of character and sense that a lot of people happen to fail.

I'd love to win it - I'd give every last penny to charity.

Keep telling yourself that, Hun, right up until you win it, then let's see.

There is no such curse. If you win that much money and then broke less than 10 years, then you are a fool and don't deserve to live.

<<---- will buy a nice house, nice vehicle <all pay in cash> then put the rest in saving/investment and live in interest income and travel first class around the world if he wins

When I retired I quit buying Lotto. If money was the issue I would have stayed working. I also quit craps, casinos and sportsbook. It is kind of sad but it is also very liberating.

Well I can guarantee you I will never win because I never play. I don't even think I can legally play the U.S. Lottery system.

Some things are more important than money. Air, Water, Food in that order. People can make it for weeks without food, perhaps a few days without water but without air you would not make it past two minutes. Money can't change that.

Sure it cannot buy happiness "but it can make misery more enjoyable". Well folks that say this need to fix the problem in the first place. And this can be done with little money.

I would have no problem with giving it away - all of it. And you can take that to the bank. :p

^^^ Rightttt...

The moment you win, relatives are going to be asking for handouts. Charities will be asking you for handouts. Criminals will be looking ways to extort money out of you. People will try to sue you for every penny. The way you look at and judge people around will change.
