Mega Man 9 Coming to WiiWare

I'm excited... but also disappointed. It will apparently be a traditional Mega Man game, which I love... but what I really wanted to see was a new MM side scroller that utilized the Wiimote for 360 degree aiming (think Soldat). With such an aiming system, you could really turn MM into a frenetic shooter, instead of the classic, "enemy walks slowly towards you, dodge his shot, then charge shot him in the face" gameplay.

Oh well, at least I'll finally get something out of the WiiWare service.

I seen a video review ( ill try to locate it again ) that the guy said the Mega Man 9 rumor was started by a Mega Man fan on a forum. It was nothing more than that.

Mega Man 9 is more than a rumor. It has been rated, which the person in the video alluded too (and again, was already posted ).

Also, the Mega Man Network post that the OP linked to was posted yesterday (and has now been referenced by reputable sites such as IGN). That video is from two days ago. I'm still not sure I believe it, though. If this is true, I am disappointed. Why go back to NES style rather than stick with the Mega Man 7 and 8 style?

Feel the same. I wanted at least SNES style sprites, if not something even higher quality. What the scans are showing looks like some fan made rom rip.

I still want a new, unique MM series for the Wii though.
