I just got off the phone with the back order department of the NY Times and after getting cut off the first time, I told the guy I wanted 10 copies on the 9-12-01 issue.

These are 5.75 -8.75 shipped as I was buying ten would cost me an arm and a leg for 10 papers. (For my first kid and a few friends not for ebay!)

These are also selling for $70- $1000 (retards) on ebay if they can slip it by their sensors which are killing the auctions pretty quick but I have seen many purchased there with the "BUY IT NOW" option.

anyhow at 75 cents a pop you cannot go wrong!!!!

Own a piece of history!

Also thanks GeoffS and WHSLacrossekid for their help with their posts in FS/FT forum keeping this issue affordable for us ATer's!!!

I hope the NY Times donates some money to the Red Cross. I already paid my $5.75 for it.

New York Times has people out on the street in Times Square today, selling stacks of these for 75 cents each.

B&M for sure they didn't know anything about online? Check for Us.
but fter shipping just go to the NY times site or call them I'd say.
Also the farther west you live the longer it will take to get there to your stores.

Our Lexington Ky store is supposed to get them today sometime as I just checked with them over the phone.

Why is eBay canceling the auctions....let the 'tards buy them for $70. Nothing illegal about that.

Having worked at Barnes and Noble, I know that my store and the Oakland store never carried more than 4 copies of the times each day.. just in general B&N doesn't carry many newspaper periodicals, so if you want these, get em fast.

I just called them online and they don't/won't have any. The closest B&M is 5 hours away. Anyone want to pick up a few copies for me for a little profit?

beefjerky911 - B&M means brick and mortar, the actual physical store you walk into as opposed to a .com online store.

For a list of other abbreviations check out the helpful How Do I thread.

Depends on where you work. I worked for B&N in NY, and we always got 150+ copies of the Times. We had 2 bundles of the times, 2 bundles of the New York Newsday, 1 Bundle of the Daily News, 1 Bundle of the NY Post, and 10 copies of the WSJ.

And these papers are worth $70 or more for what reason?

Are we supposed to thumb through them in 40 years and say "ah the good ole days of world terror".

People just don't seem to get that collectibles aren't collectible if 345,000,000 people buy one :)

look at old coins or paper money, there's millions of those that were printed but collectors pay big $ for them.[

Uh, that's because people didn't think to save them. Buy this paper if you want, but don't expect it to be worth much more than face value in the future...
