Meeting people before college

Im going to University of Illinois at Urbana in the fall, and im trying to find somewhere where i can meet and talk to people that are also going there, possibly to find a roomate or something. Anyone know of a place like this?

do they not just assign freshmen roomates at random anymore? that was the best part, not knowing who you were gonna be roomed with

No, they do assign them randomly, but if i can find someone with similiar interests now, it might work better

Every school I know allows you to pick your roomate. If both people pick eachother you get assigned to eachother. But fvck that, take the risk! Your roomate is either your best friend or your worst enemy! :beer:

i've seen columbia university make yahoo groups for the incoming class. maybe you should check there.

If you school has those pre-orientation trips, try one of those. It's a decent way of meeting new people before everyone else moves in and classes start.
