I have a user that upon start up has 18 .dll errors pop up. This has been apparently going on for a few weeks, and from what he has told me he gets another error about every few days.

A few examples of the errors are;

krdmaori.dll
kbdlc.dll
flxlib.dll
dfahim.dll
iycvid.dll
quartx.dll

those are in the order that the pop up at start up.

A bit of information before I wrap it up. I work for a major consumer health care company, we run a corporate image of windows xp pro and due to FDA and corporate guidelines I can't install 3rd party software, that's where my issue comes in, I would normally run Hijack This as a diagnostic tool but since I can't, I'm kind of at a loss. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi

If using portable utilities through USB stick is not considered install (and most of them do not even leave a trace on the Registry) then there is ample of cleaning software they can be use.

Even Hi-jack is either portable or has a portable version.

If USB stick is not allowed the utilities cam be burned onto CD.

No matter what, there must be some policy that guides the IT people how to clean up an infested computer.

If the policy defines the people that are allowed and you are Not on the list. Let go.

reimage and start from scratch.

This.

Even if you could run something like Hijack This or Spybot, the system is compromised, possibly to the point where its got some control in the kernel meaning no software running in userland could find it.

Take no chances when working for an organization like that. Someone could be using that comp as a back door into the rest of the network.
