Yup.

They are based out of Germany actually.

If you are buying retail, & not building it yourself, they actually tend to be better built than most brand-names.

That being said, i would still recommend building your own.

Hmm...okay.

Odd that you're asking now that you've had it for so long now though...

And when i mentioned they are well-built compared to other brands...i was referring to desktops.
However, their laptops seem alright too :)

A friend got a P4 2.66\Ti4200\120GB Medion desktop a couple years back and it's perfectly fine except for only having 256MB of RAM. Hasn't had any problems at all with it.

Here in the US, the Medion brand is generally sold through the Aldi grocery stores although I have also seen it at some big-box store or other. I think Aldi has their Christmas special system on sale right now. It's a really hot box for around $700. (monitor extra). I'm sure it was posted in the Hot Deals section here - just search on Aldi or Medion.

Aldi in the UK regularly have weekly special offers. Medion systems look pretty neat for pre-built jobs and ComputerActive! seems to like them.

I think they'd be a great choice if I didnt build my own.

Medion is best known for supplying PCs to the Aldi chain which is very big in Germany. You won't see much advertising from them because they mostly built to order for large chains of retailers. They are usually good PCs with a good price/performance ratio.
