Has anyone actually successfully beat this on Very Hard/Very Hard?
I've always played Rome and Medieval on VH/VH and i've always done extremely well. However, in the Kingdoms expansion, as the Teutonics, i just get absolutely smoked.
I keep restarting the campaign and trying new strategies. But usually by turn 10 or 15, after i've rampaged through lithuania to try and build some sort of stable economy from the trash regions i start with and negative income, Lithuania will come at me with 3-4 FULL stack armies, and Novgorod will come with 1-2 FULL stacks and start harassing me to no end.
I find it almost impossible to defend my regions while building any kind of economy. And they're ranged cavalry make it almost impossible to make good use of my own generals in combat since they spend the entire round chasing them down. I cannot afford to actually train light cavalry to hunt them down.
I've gone to the Total War forums, but it seems everyone there must play the game on Easy, or Normal. Apparently on VH/VH, Lithuania and Novgorod all out blitz you soon as the game starts.
