I have laryngitis :(currently and its going away, but still present. i had it for about 5 days now and my girlfriend has been around me. That said she now has it :( and its getting to become a pain in the ass like mine. Now since im getting better shes getting worser. Now my question is:

its more than possible to get sick AGAIN right after getting rid of the laryngitis with the same illness if im around my girlfriend while shes sick?

Most likely not. Your body is chock full of antibodies right now against that bug and that's why you're getting better.

I wouldn't be kissing her or exchanging any bodily fluids just in case.

Yup - after you get sick and your body ramps up your defenses, you've essentially got Superman's immune system for about a week and a half or so. Then it depressed back to a normal level.

Probably a stupid question. but im asking anyway

That's OK OP. If it weren't for people asking stupid questions, the rest of us wouldn't have so much to laugh at...:p

Yes, you COULD possibly "re-catch" whatever bug you gave to the gf, but it's not likely. I would however use caution and avoid swapping spit with her for a few days...give her bug a chance to run its course first...or not...after all, apparently you didn't refrain while YOU were sick, so why should you get any break? :D

Also keep in mind, that while your body has an ample supply of antibodies to the strain of whatever pathogen caused your laryngitis, it is entirely feasible that the g/f is infected with either an alternate strain or a completely different pathogen. There are a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE number of bacteria alone that cause it, not to mention viral sources or even fungal. That said, be a man and support your girl. Besides, if you get sick again think of all the sympathy points you'd get.

You are most likely immune from having developed antibiodies specific to the bug. Of course, this assumes she's got the same bug as you had, which is likely but not certain.

When you were at your sickest, did you have a cough, and if so, were you coughing up any phlegm or blood?
