My hand keeps going numb whenever i move my arm quickly, or snap it back. This really cant be good. Could it be a nerve ending problem?

How long has this been going on??

My advice, when in doubt, see a doc. ;)

Feel better!

you could have spinal cord compression, like if a piece of disk shot out in you upper back or neck and its putting pressure on the cord inside the spinal canal or possibly pinching a nerve root coming out of the spinal canal. Is it on one side or symetrical? Either way, you may want to get an MRI and take it to a neurologist if it keeps bothering you.

its been happening for aobut a week or 2. Its one hand, my right. It starts at the tip of ring and pinky fingers, and the numbness extends to just past the wrist.

I echo the recommendation for a neurologist. If it weren't only happening when you move quickly, I'd have suggested you might be suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome ...

i should clarify. If i move quickly sometimes it feels as if a nerve gets pinched in my arm, and the lower part of my hand goes numb.

Those symptoms suggest a repetitive injury syndrome or nerve compression of some sort, probably in the elbow or wrist, but not Carpal Tunnel. With Carpal Tunnel, the median nerve is involved, which 'feeds' the thumb, index, middle, and 1/2 of the ring finger nearest your middle, and 1/2 of the palm on your thumb-side.

The fact that you're having sensations on the opposite side of the hand, the pinky and ring fingers particularly, suggests an ulnar nerve involvement. The ulnar nerve is responsible for that 'pleasurable' sensation you get when you hit your inner elbow on something. I had similar symptoms that were caused by hitting or compressing my ulnar nerve when ever I would rest my elbow on something, like the table, especially while I'm on the internet I usually have my elbow on the table, head on hand.

At any rate, if it persists you should see a physician, because there are several disorders involving the ulnar nerve, some requiring surgery to avoid permanent nerve damage.

Make sure you get a thorough investigation, my brother had numb hands for a while, and pain in his shoulder, after several heavy investigations, he got diagnosed multiple sclerosis, which is incurable, but it can be almost halted, so make sure you get a big investigation, because not looking into this could have big consequences if it is MS.

hmm, sounds like you're getting ulna nerve paraesthesia, most likely due to compression of the nerve as it winds around the elbow!
