Is it me or is the "liberal" media as anxious for war as Cheney and his bunch at the Pentagon? I was just watching Wolf Blitzer earlier today and it looked as if he was looking confirmation as to what constituted "material breach" in the latest U.N. resolution. Even The Guardian, a U.K. publication, seems resigned to war and is actually lusting over the prospects of it?

My main concern here is whether or not the media is independent (as it claims) or wants to beat the war drum in order to have something to report.

It's not that they "want" a war. It's that rumors and fear are what gets them the ratings.

What makes you stay tuned?

A "Everything is fine, nothing to worry about."

B "We're on the brink of war and it could start at any minute!"

If it bleeds, it leads. They don;t want a war, they want to scare people and keep them tuned in.

The media are in business to make money. They need viewers, readers, whatever to survive.

The media has never been independent.
