Media Violence poll

kids that watch violent programs tend to be more violent. is it causative or merely correlative?

Media Violence is no different than flowers growing in a tranquil field. It all boils down to taking responsibility for your actions. Media violence doesn't make society more violent, it only makes the media violent. If folks can't take responsibility for their actions instead of blaming all their problems on "the devil made me do it" and other related horseshit, then they need a real reality check. Violent movies, violent TV, and violent video games don't influence anyone any more than they let themselves be influenced -AND if they actually COULD influence someone, it's the person's responsibility for their own actions that they do with that influence ANYWAY.

In all reality, it doesn't really matter as long as you have parents that raise you right and you maintain your grip on reality as you grow older.

*DELETED*

i delted my post because it will affect poll results.

😛

I also think its important to note that since this is a technology forum most respondents will probably be white, middle-class males, with average or above average intelligence, in which case the poll will not be accurate in representing a population.

But im still curious to what you all think.

holy sh!t i think thats the best thing ui have ever said

Does media violence influence society? Of course. I think you'd have to be naive to think it didn't. Does it hurt society? Well, that's a different question and I'd tend to say no. N.A. and Western European countries probably have more violent media than any other group of peoples and for the most part are quite peaceful.... or we at least exercise our violant nature through proxy by sending out armies, but we're personally quite peaceful (as a majority).

here is another question:

Do you think kids are more vulnerable to media violence compared to adults or adolescents?

According to your previous post that you edited, and according to the 11 myths of media violence that you told everyone go Google, it doesn't effect a 12 year old any more than it does a 70 year old.

So no.

I was hoping you would respect the reasons why I deleted my post, I did not want to skew the poll results.

I want people's honest opinion, im not here to change peoples minds.
