Media remote for Vista?

cmdrdredd

Lifer
I'm looking for a remote that will work with Vista to control media functions. Specifically I need it for PowerDVD to avoid using the mouse. Is there anything that will function with this? All I need it for is the PC.

Also it's retarded that PDVD doesn't integrate with Vista MCE. Shame on you Cyberlink! 😛

I am using this one:

It says it's for XP MCE but I am using Vista and it works fine.

Yeah, but I use PowerDVD Ultra for HD DVD and Blu-Ray so I need functionality for that software. I can't find confirmation anywhere. If I can't find a remote I'll just use my mouse and KB I guess.

Not a perfect solution, but a decent workaround:

How do I set this up for Blu-Ray? I am going to have both.

just tried it and the cmd prompt gave me an error. *shrug*

Should work for both HD-DVD and BD since PDVD Ultra works with both and supposedly doesn't discriminate. I haven't tried BD though, only HD-DVD.

Note that you have to run an elevated command prompt if you have UAC enabled in order to get the xml file to register.

UAC off gives an error with the application though.

Strange. I have PDVD Ultra and MCE running with Vista Ultimate, UAC disabled, and don't get any error.
