Media Reader??

Theres this thing in my pc (came free) and its called a media reader and i was just wondering what it does. Yes i know it reads media....... but it has 4 slots all diffrent and they say MS//MS PRO and SD//MMC also Compactflash I/II and lastly Smartmedia. Are these for storage or summit?? as i was in need of an externam hdd but if i could use somthing for this media reader for cheaper id go for it. Anyone know??

Those are for Flash Memory Cards used in stuff like memory cameras. If you have readers in two computers you can also use them to transfer data between the two.

It lets you read/write flash memory cards of various types, like SD (Secure Digital) or MMC (MultiMediaCard). Probably CF (Compact Flash) drives as well. They're generally much slower than an external hard drive, and have much smaller capacities.
