Media Problem w/ IE 5.5SP1 - Win2k Pro

Hi,

My system runs Win2k Pro and IE 5.5SP1. For some reason, IE no longer recognizes MP3 files. When I click on a link directing to an MP3 file, IE opens the MP3 file. In other words, I see thousands of lines of weird characters. IE no longer ask me if I want to "save" to disk. In Win2k Pro folder/file format setting, Winamp handles MP3. Also, When I click on a link to a WAV, IE does the same thing as for MP3. It opens the file rather than linking to Media Player. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks.

Just go back into IE5.5 setup and do a repair, I hope that fixes it but I can't be sure. worth a try though.
