Secondary monitor is a Westinghouse 37w3se

This is coming off from a major problem I'm having with Vista on my dual boot system so I'm running this in XP right now. Working fine in Vista while I could still boot into it. As far as I remember it was working in XP as well, but now for some reason it's all a no go.

Basically what happens is. Well I'm running dual monitor right now, my main is a Dell 2001FP, and the secondary is the Westy. Playing a video works absolutely fine on the Dell. But when I move the player to the secondary monitor, or if I start it up, it will seriously freeze my computer (ctrl-alt-delete takes minutes to come up). Mouse stops moving, no video, no keyboard commands respond....though I can hear audio from the player.

I have tried this with Zoom Player (usually my main), Media Player Classic, and Media Player 10 or 11 i think... If there is no video playing, none of the players cause any problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled the codecs I was using (CCCP 7-22 version), but still a no go. I have no idea why it's freezing the pc up.

With these two problems I am seriously about to kick the crap out of my pc because by god this is frustrating.

Same as always - NVidia and ATI graphics chips support two screens, but have only one "video overlay" engine. If you move a video over to (or start playing one on) the 2nd screen, the graphics driver would have to reassign the overlay unit to the 2nd screen. It seems your card's driver fails there.

but why would this have been working before? In Vista it works flawlessly. I *thought* that it worked fine in XP too but I haven't booted into XP in awhile so I don't really recall.
