Media Player won't play any formats on new system (using k7s5a onboard sound) ...

Hello, I just built a new system with a K7S5A and Athlon XP 1800. I'm using Windows 98 (First Edition). After installing media player and I try to play an MP3, it just hangs, saying "Opening Media". It won't play any CD files either. I am using the on-board sound on the MB. Media will play using other applications (WinAMP, Real Player) and CDs will play also. Thanks in advance for any possible solutions.

did you try a new install of Windows media player? just download a new install see if that works if not, download your chipset audio drivers here hope this helps ya
