I am aware of Roku, which plays mainly netflix account, but I also need to stream from my home PC network setup (windows 7) wirelessly (e.g. patriot media player).

Is there medial player that can do both?

thanks,

gychang

Pretty much any of them will do a share. The issue will quickly become: "Is your existing content encoded properly and universally in a format that said media player will understand?"

With me - TiVO HD understands a couple formats. A little python script named "pyTiVO" handles on the fly transcoding with the help of ffdshow and some other filters. Essentially I just drop into a folder, well anything - h264 .mkvs, x264 mp4's, vc-1 wmv's, xvid avi's, pretty much whatever.

TiVO does netflix natively and in HD.

The only one I can think that does both reliabably is the Western Digital Live Plus and the Western Digital Live Hub (The difference is that the Hub has a built in 1TB HDD) with little or no bugs..

I have a Nixeus Fusion HD and I use PlayOn 3rd Party Software to stream NetFlix - which is currently the more reliable way than some other Media Players that have built in NetFlix that are often buggy.

I concur with WD Live plus not to mention better PQ than the Roku.

I usually watch movies on my projector so the difference is very obvious.
