Media Player Classic volume question

Media Player Classic's highest volume seems to be whatever the master volume is in Windows. Since I use headphones, I have the master volume set pretty low. Is there a way to make MPC use the system volume instead of it's internal volume settings?

if you go view-options you have the option of sepcifying and output render device for audio
also there is a section of filters for audio filters that you an setup and control
now will either of those help you out? probobly not but worth a shot :D

I played around with the settings for both of those and I couldn't get it to work. :( Thanks anyway.

I'm not sure about the default audio decoder, but there is a boost slider in the default audio decoder option page which should do what you want.

I use ac3filter 1.01a rc5 and that has a gain setting which I use to boost the volume.

I'll give that a try. Thanks. I also just realized that the problem I'm really having is that MPC captures my keyboard's volume button keypresses, so when I try to turn up the volume, MPC stops it at it's own internal maximum even if the Windows master is set low. I just need to minimize MPC or click away and then adjust the volume, I guess.

Don't know which keyboard you have, but I have the MS Multimedia KB and I had the same issue. I installed the drivers for the keyboard (Intellitype) and now my volume buttons always adjust the master volume. So if you have any software for your keyboard you can try that.

Oh, yeah, the keyboard thing. MPC traps the volume button on the keyboard. You can deactivate MPC (click the desktop) and then adjust volume then go back to MPC. That is annoying.

Ah. That fixed it! Thanks M0RPH and everyone else for the help.
