I agree....I think less so with higher clock speed as the amd actually has a higher IPC. The bandwidth is real as well as programs being optimised for SSE2...now the athlons, athlon XP's, and Bartons do not have this and the advantage is the P4, but the Athlon64 and opterons do have this so I think the amd chips (at least flagship one) are now right up there in performance in those apps that take advanatage fo SSE2...Ie rendering apps, and a handful of encoding programs.
