I ve been reading the news from the USA media since Friday, and now I started reading from the BBC and everything is different, the BBC shows more pictures and more details of the fighting. Example US news said the city of XXXX give up and the BBC said there is still figthing in small pocket..😕

You know when you do that, you're obligated to provide a link as proof😀

BBC War Coverage

Could it be that the British value Freedom of the Press more than our current Administration does ?

yes, wow I ve been reading without stop the BBC. You know the trust will set you Free"

Does anyone have a link that will translate Arabic newsources like aljazeera.net/ to English?

I used to have one but have lost it and can't find it again. I'd really like to see what the Arabic side is saying.

American media is about as bad as arabic media. Very few channels/papers know what "objectivity" means.

c-span is ok, i like how they take about equal calls from both sides of an issue.

I have some problems with a couple of these embedded (sp) journalists. Some are forgetting that they are JOURNALISTS and not soldiers. And I also hate the metaphores they are using. Using descriptions like "A Mighty Wave Of Steel" is so ridiculous when you are a journalist.

That's because they are "in bed" with the US military!

This whole "embedded" journalism thing is a waste. If I want to watch cheerleaders following a script I will watch a basketball game. Perhaps they should try embedding some journalists in an Iraqi family's home during the "shock and awe" campaign...

In any event, getting back on topic, I have also been impressed by two news stations in terms of their war coverage - both Canada's CBC (can check out website at http://www.cbc.ca/news/iraq/) and the U.S.'s ABC News have proven to be quite objective in their presentation of the Iraq invasion.

On the other side is CNN. Is it just me or does anyone else feel like kicking Erin Brown and Larry King in the teeth every time these two open their ignorant yaps? I choose the less violent option of quickly flipping the channel...

man, all you guys are sh!tting all over the embedded journalists but frankly i think it was rather cool to see live pictures from the 7th cav racing across the desert past bedouin camps.

Example US news said the city of XXXX give up and the BBC said there is still figthing in small pocket.
are you talking about the port? the marines said it was clear after going house to house, and then later encountered resistance.

I just have a problem with the way some of them do their job. I like the live pictures.

I think it's pretty cool too, but not very informative. It makes for great reality tv(actual Reality to boot) and it makes me "feel" like I can imagine how being there must impress on ones mind the "experience", but beyond that it seems to be a form of fluff, more eye candy with less substance. More of a Human Interest story than a deep understanding of the issues involved.

I agree, the BBC is MUCH, MUCH better.

less biased, better coverage, i like it.

Too bad all we get in the states is crappy BBC America. Watered down version with only 2 times of the news.

🙁
