Heyas Anandtech,

I'm about to sink some cash into a big tv and a music/movie player of some kind. If it was up to me, I'd definitely get a PS3 to run movies and surf to pandora for tunes, but my wife also has to be able to manage this setup. She doesn't respond well to wait times, or complicated hoops to get to what she wants. Honestly, she'll probably use it for music more than anything else. I'd like to be able to play my mp3 collection also, but pandora would be nice.

So, given my situation, what direction would you go? I've seen some BR players that include pandora. But the draw of having the PS3 for Gran Turismo when it comes out would be dandy. Some questions: how long does it take for the ps3 to start? how hard is it to navigate to play music stored on the ps3? How difficult is it to surf the net with the ps3?

Thanks in advance for the suggestions!

ive heard its an avg 31 seconds for the ps3 to start blu ray titles, and Ive heard that the LG's bd390s 26-27 secs is the fastest But Ive also heard stories of the PS3 taking a little bit faster than that to load also in some occasions. The PS3 is amazing for blu rays though. I am not familiar with the internet surfing capabilities on it though.
