I've finally taken the time to resolve my MCE2005 "remote not working problem".
I just resolved my "mce receiver service" error by getting rid of Intervideo and switching to the Nvidia decoder.

But now...

When I hit the power button on the remote (the circle with the line in it) the computer goes into standby. The same thing happens with my Phillips remote and HP remote (understandably)
How the hell do I get it to come back out of standby without rebooting?

Pushing just about any button on your remote should wake it up (power, green button). Perhaps your motherboard doesn't support wake by USB. Check your bios/manual. Also, are you using S3 standby (suspend to ram--fans are off in this mode)?

It'll also wake up to record shows, download guide data, and download auto updates (if you have it set to dl at a specific time).
